How is it calculated?
Enter the distance, your car's consumption per 100 km and the price per litre. Choose round trip to double the distance, and enter the number of people to split the cost.
Formula
Fuel (L) = Distance × Consumption ÷ 100 Cost = Fuel × Price per litre Per person = Cost ÷ People

Frequently asked questions
Where do I find my car's fuel consumption?
The combined figure in the manual is measured under ideal conditions; real-world use is often 10–20% higher. The most reliable number is your own average from the trip computer or from filling up.
My consumption is given in mpg or km/L. What now?
Divide 100 by km/L to get L/100 km. For US miles per gallon, divide 235.2 by the mpg figure (282.5 for imperial gallons).
Are tolls included?
No, only fuel is calculated. Add tolls yourself, or enter them as fixed costs in the Trip Budget tool.
